Approximately 100 murder cases have been transferred from Additional District and Sessions Judge Ravikumar Diwakar's court in Muzaffarnagar to the District and Sessions Judge's court. This administrative order follows Diwakar's delivery of 22 death sentences in 10 cases over the past four months, which caused apprehension among lawyers and litigants regarding capital punishment.
